We arrived at about 1pm and couldnt get into the rooms until 2pm. We sat in the lobby and had a few bintangs while the kids swam in the pool. We were enjoying ourselves so much we didnt end up going to our rooms until 4pm!
ROOMS
Luckily we managed to get 2 ground floor rooms (as I have a buggered back and cant really walk up and down stairs very well). We had 6101 and 6102 right in the back corner.
Our friends got interconnecting rooms on the first floor so they were happy as well as they have 3 small children.
Rooms were regular size (standard rooms) but they were plenty big enough for us. The room I was in had a huge bathroom - I think I was just lucky as this room was on the end of the building.
SMALLER POOL
Our rooms overlooked the small pool at the back of the hotel complex. It was really lovely to have the pool right there. There were a few older people staying around our area who liked the peace and quiet around the smaller pool. Unfortunately for them their peace was about to end with the arrival of 5 kids between the ages of 20 months and 13 years.
To be fair we instructed our kids if there were any older people lying by or in the smaller pool they had to go and swim in the big pool out the front to give the other people a bit of peace.
The smaller pool was really great to have although towards the end of our holiday it was shut for several days as it went murky.
BIG POOL
The big pool is a good size and has a smaller kiddy pool attached. I still dont think that a life sized statue of 2 elephants "going at it" is not suitable at a family hotel.
Plenty of sun lounges available and there are buzzers in bamboo poles that you can ring if you want any service. I do like this pool area as well.
THE SPA
When you stay at Febris you get a free spa item for free. However you have to use it on day 1 or day 2 and they have very limited openings. Although the spa is open until 9 - the last option for using the free one is at 2pm. If you want to use it you have to be quick.
The massage we had was lovely, very quiet and they had the beds with the hole in the face part so not so traditional but more comfortable.
As I need to be careful with my back I only had the one massage sadly :(
RESTAURANT/ROOM SERVICE
The food was ok, but nothing special. The kids ate a lot of room service as most nights they didnt want to come out for tea. We usually only went either across the road or a few steps away from the hotel and left them a phone and they always knew where we were.
The menu ranged from pizzas, burgers, the usual indonesian fare and prices were about 50,000 for a main.
BREAKFAST
Brekky was the same every day. Fresh fruits, cereal, toast, nasi goreng, noodles, baked beans, tomatoes, scrambled egg, hash browns, french toast etc. There was an egg station where you could order any kind of egg and they also made waffles which was a huge hit with all the kids. Everything was replaced regularly and so was quite fresh. Most morning I just had an egg on toast.
CATS
Last year I didnt notice the cats but this time it really was revolting. Cats and kittens all over the place, jumping all over the tables outside the rooms eating peoples left over room service. If I dont stay here again it will be because of the cats.
As the boss said, this is what happens when you ban BB guns LOL
