we flew out from perth on the 19th Sept at 9am.

The flight was on time and we actually arrived early. 3 hours and we were there.

Breakfast was terrible, the worst I have ever had on a plane. Scrambled egg that resembled an old boot. the boss had a mixed grill which he said was very good.

quite a bit of turbulence on the way over but nothing too scarey.

The movie was the A Team but didnt get to see much of that because of my kids constantly asking questions.

One drink was all they managed to serve before closing the bar. they closed it at least an hour before landing. the crew said the bar was closed a good hour before the captain announced that the bar was closed.

Landing was pretty good and out of the plane fairly quickly.

First hurdle at the airport. Out of all the JBR's I have read recently I havent read one that said that now you have to buy your VOA docket before lining up at the VOA counter. Everybody was lining up for ages only to be told that you have to line up somewhere else to get the ticket first. As you walk down to the VOA area you have to line up to the left to get the ticket and then go to your right to get it stamped etc.

It was a bit of chaos everybody not knowing what was going on and it took twice as long as usual.

also they Xray all the bags now before you exit, this slowed everything down as well.

All in all it took us about 3/4 of an hour to get out. still not too bad

On the way back I flew business class for reasons which will become clear in one of the next couple of JBR's.

My ticket allowed access to the Premier Lounge at Denpasar for me only. we decided to hell with the expense and paid for the boss and the 2 kids to come in as well for a look. It cost us 550,000rp for them to get in. same deal as the Prada lounge except the prada lounge serves spirits where the premier lounge doesnt.

food is slightly better in the premier lounge but everything else is the same. cheaper to go to the Prada where its 200,000rp for a family (much cheaper). the Prada is a much better deal and is free if your flying Airasia (well it was for us last time)

Seats on the plane in business class were lovely and big, lots of leg room. they serve you a drink before takeoff which was nice.

Food was much better than economy with appetiser, we had beef ravioli with salad and a warm crunchy bread roll. Drinks better quality (Watershed wines etc) and more plentiful. For dessert there were 2 choices, a coconut pudding or a cheese plate (I chose the cheese plate)

Business class is definately lovely but at $694 extra to fly one way it is pretty pricey.

Next JBR soon, if anybody has any questions just ask
