If you go down Gang Puspa Ayu opposite the south end of Kartika Plaza aka Centro there is a warung on the right quite close to the corner. Always full of locals. Excellent food - ate lunch from there most days for over a week - no tummy problems at all. Rarely paid more than Rp12K for masses of food.
If you continue on along Gang Puspa Ayu & keep turning right you'll get to a dead end at Dayu Beach Inn - opposite is another great warung.
This area is very good for warungs as there are several Kos places providing accommodation for the people who work nearby, esp in Centro. There is a big turnover of food so always fresh. We always had di bunkus (takeaway) & kept small bottles of kecap manis & chili sauce in out room (prefer to use my own cutlery).
