Came in through Melbourne 3 weeks ago. Similar system. Red channels only open. was sweating as I had a connecting flight to Adelaide 2 hours later but made it fine. Found if you smile sweetly and are polite the customs treat you fine. Only checked my hand baggage in the end. saw some pompous idiot complaining that he knew his local MP well and was going to complain. Was still being checked when I went through.
Don't have any problems with Bali customs. They are just doing the job they have been told to do. Again be polite and they are fine with you.
