My husband flew to Bali in June with a back slab on. The morning we flew to Bali we went to the plaster clinic and they cut the plaster in half(back slab) and wrapped it in a bandage for comfort, so if the arm/wrist did swell we could loosen the bandages, flying can cause the arm to swell.

This indeed was correct and also the humidity in Bali also made my husband's wrist and hand swell. Fibreglass cast is the way to go if you can organise it. Please check with the doctors in charge of your daughter's care. Make sure she does rest her arm though, as the heat in Bali is very different than here in aus.

I know my hubby was ready to rip the plaster off, healed or not.!!!!
Hope this helps.
