An international licence is actually an interpretation of your existing licence. If you don't have a motor bike licence in Aust/where ever you wont have one for overseas. The normal car on Aust licence covers a person for a moped up to 50cc. Go over without a proper licence and deep poo.
Also you are supposed to cary both. Your Australian/elsewhere licence and International licence with you. Same person on both.
Retired from the WA POlice about 6 years ago and it was $150 fine in Australia for not carrying both. But in saying that if your foreign licence was in english you did not need an international licence. It is only a language converter.
