I have come to a point when I don't trust any of them which is pretty unfair as I have never had a problem (that I know of) with the one near Bonsai restaurant in Sanur.
My method now is to tell them before they scan anything that I will need a receipt and have my calculator in my hand as I say this. Half the time they will say OK and the receipt will be handed to me but of course no ink in printer.....Back to the trusty mini calculator or mobile phone.
The best line I ever heard when charged twice the price marked on a bakery item was "Oh, no that is the price we pay the supplier". After standing my ground I was grudgingly given a refund.
I try to use a small warung type shop for anything that they stock so rarely need a large number of items from Circle K.
