if u want to get to the gilis cheap, u can take the ferry from pandang bai to lombok, then taxi to bangsal harbor in lombok to catch local boat over to gili t or gili a or gili m. gili t is the most populated with tourist and dive shops and bars, gili air is more laid back, both are great, just depend on your mood! you can catch local boat from gili t T 9 AM TO GO TO GILI A FOR THE DAY FOR ATOUND 50,000Rp return. either way, they ar beautiful place to be! fast boat, is 1 1/2 hour from pandang bai plus the time to get to padang bai from kuta! normal pick up at ur place is 6 to 6:30 am and u in gili t by 11am.
