where to leave and who to fly.

Hotel Booked for next May/June and I will be hopefully retired on the Mid North Coast NSW so I am bewildered as to how to get to Bali. Thought oabout AA from Gold Coast via KL but seems too much stuffing around. Not sure whether a stopover in Darwin with Jetstar is OK and then there's Virgin ( I like the time they get to Bali (in the arvo)

Haven't been game to check out Garuda as yet I thought I would ask all you nice cane toads your p-refered methods.
