Traveling to Bali over Christmas and New Year with husband and 10yo son. As we have been to Bali many times (this will be my 16th trip since 1983, hubby and son 10th and 4th) we would like to spend a night or two somewhere other than Kuta, even though Kuta is just about my favourite place in the world.
We want to stay somewhere a little more relaxed without being total recluses, and we would like to be close enough to do some shopping, touristy things.
Hubby has suggested Ubud, I was thinking about Candi Dasa but I don't want to stay somewhere that will be too "boring" for our son.
We would love some advice, suggestions of a suitable location and maybe suitable accommodation (up to $100/night)
