A hotel that has good family rooms, if that's what you're after is the Dewi Sri. Largest rooms of any hotel we've stayed in. This is a good, reasonable priced hotel, but not a resort type, Family rooms are around $100 - $120p/night in a good central location in Kuta.
Another good hotel closer to your price range is the Bali Garden Hotel, located on the beach and closer to the centre of Kuta. This is a larger hotel with 3 pools, across the road from Waterbom Park, 5 minutes walk to Kuta Square and right next door to Discovery Plaza.
