We were in Bali in March and noticed the change for the better at the Secret Garden Bar and Cafe in Poppies1, so this trip we decided to spend a bit more time at The Garden.
The whole bar area has been renovated with Bamboo style tables, chairs and thatched roofs over every table, food very good, mood music or live entertainment several nights a week, bloody cold beer at a good price, free Wi Fi for customers and an all round generally good ambiance.
We also noticed that the standard of clientele has picked up with more couples and families dining there, looks like the boss had moved a few undesirables on.
After a few meals at The Garden we met the Ron from Melbourne who had taken over 12 months ago and comment to him that the change was noticeable.
Ron then showed me an invitation for him to attend The International Business and Company Awards in Jakarta this weekend as the Secret Garden and Cafe Bar has been nominated in The Best Quality Service of the Year award section.
Congratulations to him, he has done good job and I wish him well.
I was going to offer to lend him my dinner suit but I will probably need it when we go to Ducks Nutz in Sanur this Sunday afternoon and then again when we go to Seminyak for fine dining on Monday night:)
On another note last night we had a meal at the Nusa Indah opposite the Masa Inn in Poppies1 and mama Jo realise this morning that she had lost her glasses.
She went back to the Nusa Indah this morning and low and behold a middle aged German couple who had used the table after we left had found them and gave them to the staff (Agung).
German people are different in Poppies1 Wharfie LOL.
Tomorrow we are going on a tour of the REAL Bali! Our guide is going to take us on a cultural tour of Kuta Town Houses and then off to Poppies2 in search of those elusive Yobbos and Bogans, dying to see what they look like just in case one or two drop into poppies1.
Cheers for now,
Hoolz
