Thought I'd share this find with those of you that call Indonesia from Australia. For years I've been using phone cards to phone Indonesia but found often the line quality very poor, or it would take several attempts to get through and would be charged the flag fall every time, quickly eating through credit.
Recently we switched our home phone/internet to Exetel ADSL2 Naked. We use VOIP for our phone calls. They only charge 12c per minute to a mobile on XL with no flag fall. So far, we have had great lines, no drop outs, and get through every time.
The charge to call a mobile in Indo is actually cheaper than calling a mobile in Australia. This is because they only charge what they get charged + a margin. As the wholesalers in Australia charge a lot more for mobile calls than XL in Indo, they can pass the saving on.
All good for us :)
