Oh, what memories, stayed in Sanur, only a couple of primitive losmans in Kuta, no road along the beach front, just beach sand. Three wheel bemos'a, all cramed in, singing, . In all the restuarants the staff sitting down with you to learn English, or play backgammon, no one in a hurry, very little traffic. Went back just after the AMericas Cup won, and 'I COME FROM A LAND DOWN UNDER' blaring out everywhere. Could travel faster than walking. And the menus were a point of hilarity to read. Still go back regularly, just returned from my 3rd trip in 12 months. Keep in touch with some Balinese we met first trip, Patrick who sold silver on the beach at Kuta, and Ketut Sedam, who still gives massages opposite where the Intan was, along with all her friends who still work there. Wonderful memories, just pulled out some of my old photos from 1978, a good trip down memory lane.
