okay in that case i would recommend your friend should buy the USB modem together with the SIM card from the respective carrier.

there are a few available in Bali but most of them are over subscribed, therefore the connection is always dropping out.

i would recommend to take a look with Bakrie Connectivity AHA product or the Indosat IM2 (http://www.indosatm2.com/)

with the SIM card, registration and USB modem about rp. 699,000 with one month unlimited subsciption.
