Everywhere I went with a baby I was welcomed. Taking a stroller that reclines for sleeping is a must as you can then stay longer somewhere while the bubs are sleeping. If they are on solids there is plenty of baby food at the supermarkets. My girl was just over a year onld and survived on hot chips, hommous and chocolate milkshakes. A mozzie protector for night times out is needed too. I wish I had taken advantage of the Hotel's baby sitting service more. When the lovely Wayan did come and look after my little girl she did everything! She played with her until she was tired, sang to her, feed her, bathed her and had her tucked up in bed sound asleep and then proceeded to tidy up my room and then help the other babysitters get their little ones settled in rooms across the hallway. If your friends are reluctant to have someone look after their child please tell them my story and how I wish I had had Wayan over more. What stopped me was the "perceived" "bad mother leaving her child with a stranger in a foreign country" pressure I put on myself - so stupid looking back.
