Hi Newbee, yes Bali is a very popular destination with us Aussies. You will love it. I found out about the Travel Forum before my third trip, it is a fantastic help, I got a great driver and hotel advice from here. If you let everyone know where you are staying you will get heaps of great advice on where is good to eat, shop etc. We also got tips on what prices to pay, where to shop and health advice like take Travelan to prevent Bali belly, print out conversion sheets for your purse so you can tell straight away what you are paying. Don't tell the other Americans how great it is or there won't be enough room for us in Bali. Have a fantastic trip.
