Average age a baby starts talking, and not babbling, is 8 -15 mths.
My son's first words were mummy daddy please thank-you and the 'f' word.
My son had no understanding of what that swear word meant, or that it was a bad word, he was simply impressed by the tone it was said in by the irate driver of a car we were travelling in.
Took ages before he stopped saying it when he greeted people. HE wasn't traumatised but i sure was, lol.
