We ate at quite a few different restaurant.
We generally ate in Sanur but did eat a few meals in Kuta as well. None of the restaurants we ate at could be described as in the higher end of the price range or market but really didnt have a bad meal in any of the them
Restaurants in Sanur we ate at were:
Piccadilly........was a bit disappointed with this restaurant this year as we ate there a couple of times but was no where near as good as it was previously. Still good but expected a bit better. Will still try it next year. Noticed we didnt see the owner there at all this time so maybe that why the meals werent as great as they normally are.
Tootsies..........atmosphere in this place is usually very relaxed and that didnt disappoint. I had the chicken satay, chicken was a bit dry but the satay sauce was yummo... and the other meals ordered by the rest of our party were good too. Hubby had babi something or other and he totally loved it.
Bennos............had a couple of lunches and enjoyed them all. Nothing brilliant but definitely good
Ratatouille.......definitely our favourite of all the places we ate at. I had the Seafood Stew and honestly it didnt disappoint. Spicy and soooooooooo yummy, so good that we went back for another meal and had to have it again. Presentation of the meals was great and can honestly say that all four of us all said this was definitely the best of everywhere we ate.
Bonsai.............this place is always great as its on the beach and gets a great breeze coming off the ocean. Food was as enjoyable as it normally is. Had the Chicken Satay here too and the chicken was so yummo and so was the satay sauce.
Luhto Cafe.........(I think thats the spelling) Its a new one thats popped up since last year and is basiically next to tootsies. Its only small and we only had brekkies here but was lovely. The morning breeze and the American brekkies we ordered were never disappointing.
Made Two............small restaurant just down the road towards the beach from Dunkin' Donuts. This place has been here for years and its great. Nothing super fancy but the meals are always enjoyable.
The Comerang (used to be called The Corridor). Had dinner here and was generally enjoyable.
Restaurant in Ubud:
Tropical.........its on Monkey Forest Road just a few doors down and across the road from the Markets. Hubby and mate spent a couple of hours here as us two girls decided to check out the markets in slower motion than the speed they would like to do it in......lol Girls have to shop I tells ya!!!Anyway they had ice cream and a few drinks before we even got there to have lunch. All our meals were good, nothing spectacular but definitely enjoyable.
Restaurants in Kuta/Legian:
Gateway to India.........love love love this restaurant. Its basically on Bemo Corner, looks nothing flashy but seriously its beautiful Indian food....The chicken kathiroll is a must and you can tell them how hot or mild you want the food. And the naan breads just melt in your mouth .I love spicy but hubby settles for mild but all the food we had here was yummmo. We took a couple that had never been there before (and also dont like spicy) but they absolutely loved the food here.
Indo National.............great place to eat but found the nasi was a bit lacking when it came to taste. Watched a guy totally enjoying his chili crab though...will definitely have to try that one next time.
Flying Piano..............had lunch here and was good. Have had dinner here before and loved the food.
Poco Loco.................had dinner here on the second last day and met up with friends/family and didnt disappoint. Have been going to this restaurant for years and has never disappointed. Had the chicken fajitas and seriously enjoyed it.
Cant think of anyother places we had a meal at but probably will remember somewhere else once Ive posted this...lol
Next Instalment......shopping of course
