My understanding is that both people must have a religion, and both must be the same.
It has been suggested that it may be a good plan to do a "registry job" at home to get the legals sorted, and then to do a "faux wedding" in Bali to affirm, celebrate or whatever.
I think I suggested this once, but was told that this is deceptive (if not announced) and not on.
I minded my owm business after that !!
