From Trip Advisor

The Hotel restaurants are generally excellent, but pricey! (especially if you want wine with your meal). Cleanliness and quality is evident. Great for a treat, but an expensive habit! The Bali-Collection is the next price level down, with a good standard in food and and hygiene, but priced at a premium over the village restaurants. Can be an easy walk from many hotels, but worth taking the shuttle bus at night or if unfamiliar with the area as it's easy to get lost if you haven't done the walk in the day light. Restaurants near the main Nusa-Dua gates are the next price level down, generally OK, but variable in quality; most offer free return transport. For best pricing and good hygiene go to the 'other end' of Bualu Village where there are a range of restaurants to choose from, Nyomans, Mai-Mai etc. Again, there is free transport from the hotels. Most (non hotel) restaurants are happy to offer you a discount at the door, usually 10%, but hold out for 20%, which seems to be the limit.

Bali Epeh Jl Pratama; Ph 778-185. Excellent food + cocktails.

Bumbu Bali Jl Pratama; Nusa Dua; Ph 774-502

Authentic Balinese cuisine, fantastic! Many dishs not to be missed! Satay comes in a variety of types. The setting of this place is quite magical.

La Scala restaurant Tanjung Benoa (Nusa Dua area). Opposite the Grand Mirage Hotel, lights in trees out front, live band most nights, roof shaped like the sails of the Sydney opera house. Free transport local area. Favourites- spring rolls, seafood bruschetta, chicken melting as main course. Cocktails are also great. Food very well priced for the area!

Nyalan Restaurant; Buala Village

Surya Café Jl Egars Lon 21. Benoa, Nusa Dua. 361.772016 50m before Chinese Temple. Seafood. Takes you on a boat. Eat on boat, drinks etc. Book and arrive 5pm.

Nyomen's Beer Garden : Pantai Mengiat, Nusa Dua Free transport in local area. Serves German dishes (as well as the usual Indo and International fare). The meals are very cheap, and there is entertainment most nights.

Mai Mai: Pantai Mengiat (next to Nyomen's). Free transport in local area. (tel 772406) Indo and International with a Mexican flavour. Cheap and clean. Entertainment some nights, guitarist/singer or childrens Legong dancing. Best to arrive early as it gets busy and then you can wait too long for your meal to arrive. They seem too popular for the size of their kitchen! They are happy to see repeat customers (and always remember you!) and will often reward you with a discount on food, (not drinks).

Bali Bistro: Bualu Village Markets, Nusa Dua. Free transport in local area. Owned locally. Indo and International menu.

Laguna: Pantai Mengiat. Free transport in local area. Owned by the same as above. Same menu.

Yasa Segara KUD: Pantai Mengiat, beach end. Run by the local village and very tasty, cheap meals.

Santorini's: Jalan Pratama (opp Conrad Hotel). Free transport in local area. Spectacular décor - looks like something from the middle east with large white pillars. Greek food and others available.

Tropical: Bualu Village Markets, Nusa Dua. Free transport in local area

De Memedi: GWK. De Memedi Restaurant is very ordinary as far as the food is concerned, but the views make it worthwhile. Sit and watch the sunset over Jimbaran Bay and then watch night descend and the lights go on - you can see the whole of Jimbaran, airport, Tuban, Kuta, Legian and as far up as Seminyak, and also Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa.

Waroeng Kampoeng: JL Bypass, Ngurah Rai 123 tel: 744913. A real Balinese experience. This restaurant is located approx. 3 km from Nusa Dua on the road to Kuta. It sells Chinese, Seafood and Balinese food. It's not targeted at tourists, but as a place the Balinese enjoy as a meal out with family and friends. To be honest looking at it from the road it's not somewhere I would have tried without prior advice, but it was reccomended by a Balinese friend and it was a great experience. excellent food at very low prices. (more than we could eat for 4, with drinks for Rp160K). The interior is basic, but spotless. A great welcome from friendly people. They have a menu in English. Well worth a try and a chance to really meet the Balinese. Suggest a 'blue' metered taxi at approx Rp25K from nusa dua (Mar 2010), not a taxi from outside the hotels who will try to take Rp70 from you!

Sama Sama: 5 minutes drive from Nusa Dua five-star hotels complex along Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai. Japanese style Korean barbeque, which is meat and vegtables cooked over an open grill in the restaurant. Also seafood and Indonesian food. Great for kids, very popular with Japanese tourists. All you can eat menu for about 200,000 rp. Original shop is located in Kyoto, Japan, specializes in big appetites, all you can eat. Samasama Home Page

Fukutaro Nusa Dua: Chain of Japanese restaurant on Bali, with one outlet located near the entrance of the Nusa Dua resort. Specializes in Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, seafood, crab, and teppanyaki. Fukutaro Nusa Dua

Pepenero: Not located in the Nusa Dua area, but close enough.

Pepenero is an authentic Italian Trattoria, located at the Temple Hill complex at Jimbaran. Authentic Italian dishes prepared from scratch, pizza, pasta, salads, and incredible deserts.

Pasar Senggol: Nightly Bali culture show, market and international buffet. Well regarded for a wide variety of foods prepared to perfection. Located in the Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua. Pasar Senggol at the Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua
