I am suprised there is no conversion fee as this is charged by Mastercard on international transaction (maybe it is incorporated into the exchange rate you are given at the ATM), I know most Australian ATM debit, ATM cards when you withdraw charge you a withdrawal rate of $5 AUD, approx 2.9% conversion fee and THEN if you where getting say 29 baht in Thailand at a money changer for cas, they would convert at the Austrlian rate of 25 baht, so you lose again.

Travel cards also have fees, reloading fee etc they are not as cheap as everyone thinks !! then if it remains inactive they charge a fee, they charge a withdrawal fee etc, replacement card fee.
