...never done it myself, but have chatted to the girls in paddys a few times, always making it clear i wasnt going to be buying. I met ya yank over there, who was looking for some loving and he was quoted rp500,000 in paddys.... he thought this was too expensive (tight git!), so went back to the hotel, and asked the security guy to fix him up with 2 girls.
Within half an hour, 2 girls arrived for him for a total fee of 500,000rp and he had the time of his life.
However.....
He was talk of the hotel staff for the rest of his stay, as he was always talking about his gf back in the states..even chatting to her on skype and introducing her to the hotel staff etc.
So, on this basis - i would say yes, its tolerated by the balinese, but still frowned upon. And i wouldnt do it myself..... hell man, i've had plenty of sex in bali as a solo traveller - but i didnt part with cash once. Though this wont be so easy if you specifically want an indonesian. They are damn cute though.
