Strategic pricing
Discrepancy in pricing if you book in 1 complete booking to actually breaking the booking up, so it is in fact penalising you or maybe charging you $54.00 to transfer you luggage 1 way at Townsville to Bali but not on the return trip.
Also this morning was cheaper on all flights than now.
this morning price Brisbane to Townsville return was $89 each way total of $178 as per site saying this was so, and then Townsville to Bali $199 and return was $152 (similar to PT Hedland -cheaper one way than the other to Bali due to the cheaper taxes in Bali).
So the total of the flight was $529 but to book it in 1 leg from Brisbane to Bali Via Townsville it was $629.00. Difference of $100.00 to book this way cheaper to do it in legs BNE to Townsville, then Townsville to Bali
So emailed Strategic, and they said all fixed - all fixed means that all they have done is increase the Bali to Townsville leg from $152 to $199.
But it is still more expensive to book it in 1 booking as that price is still $629 but in the 2 legs it is now $576.00
THey kindly informed me quote "If you decide to go ahead and book the tickets separately, please be aware that you will need to collect baggage in Townsville in both directions and we will not guarantee that you have enough connection time to do so. If you do miss the flight, fare rules and conditions of the fare you have purchased apply."
Is this dodgy or is this common as I have never experienced this before.
I know some airlines charge more for a single trip with no return but never to charge more for bascially the same flight but the convenience of having you luggage go through so you dont miss your flight.
