ours started around 9-9.30 I think and we finished at 1.00 to eat lunch. No special days, you choose the day and the menu, but 3 dishes is enough as she goes to a lot of trouble explaining the spices and grinding into pastes etc so takes a while. No electric blenders here (although I did cheat and use one at home). I didn't have a problem finding the spices - went to two pshops but should have just gone to the second one which has a large range of Asian veges and spices. Will definitely go back again to learn something new next year. Maria's friend arrived half way through and helped with the cooking.
As I said, don't be put off by the 'venue'. You are in her tiny home in a compound in the back streets of Kuta but it is spotless.
