would be my pick for mid priced resort, they have rooms, shared pool villas and pool villas.

Their restaurant is the most popular and the liveliest part of the Island, this doesnt mean its noisy or full of party animals even though its next door to the Tir Na nong (Irish pub and beach front bar)

we were on Gili T at the most busy time this year and were surprised at the lack of noise at night after reading so many reports about it being "The Party island"???? Bali this place is not!

Backpackers stay middle to north of the island and most inland a bit from the beach.

Quite a few of the beach front hotels (small road and hotel restaurants between all hotels and beach) were set up for people wanting to learn how to dive so most days the pools were full of learners so pools no good for relaxing. Beach house pool was quiet, great and always a lounge available.

The hotels/resorts in the north part of the island are a bit isolated and its much better to stay closer to the main hub.(south of the main pier)

Kokomo is owned by the same owners as The Beach house but its quite expensive.

Villa ombak and scallywags is just between The Beach House and KoKomo,s

Villa Ombak is a bit more expensive than The Beach house and is the most popular resort on the island it has quite a few Europeans and American guests that expect a bit more from accommodation than most Australians who visit Indo and Bali more frequently.

We were glad we stayed at The beach house and this part of the island.

The beach isnt great because the restaurant is over hanging the water but it not far to walk (or catch a cidomo) to the best snorkeling spots. The best beach is just north of the main pier.

many boats leave daily for snorkeling trips around Gili T/Gili Air but you have to be careful as the current is very strong. you are guaranteed to see many fish, turtles and giant clams.

The best way to get there by far is the fast boat, prices vary but so does quality. the best services cost around $75US PP each way with a return ticket being a bit cheaper.

you can book the fast boat yourself or any resort you book will arrange it for you.

The Beach house prices range from 3.6 million per night for a 4 bedroom villa (well worth the price if in a big group or family)

TO 300,000 IDR for the "Tree Houses" (flashpaker accommodation)

Deluxe bungalow 700,000/550,000 IDR (high low season)

2 bed villa 2.4 million

1 bed villa 1.2 million

2 bed pool bungalow 1.150 mil/1 million

1 bed pool villa 850,000/700,000 (pool villas have a shared pool between two villas)

standard bungalow 550,000/500,000 IDR

studio room 450,000/350,000 IDR

After you visit Gilli T you will possibly onny use Bali as a starting point or shop over in the future.

look at all the Youtube clips to get an idea of the place.

Good luck and enjoy :-)
