How coulod anyone compare Lamak with Three Monkeys.
Lamak is a fine dining restaurant with all that goes with it, managed by an ex 5 Star Hotel Exec Chef of many years, their chef [and those of their other restaurant Warung Enak, Bali's best quality Indonesian restaurant]win cooking awards against all the big hotel restaurants regularly. Lamak offers an Asian Fusion, based on French kitchen techniques with the addition of Asian spices and herbs, only buying the very top products. Not cheap, by Bali standards [well, actually the food is cheap if you compare with what you would pay at a COMPARABLE top restaurant in any major city of the world, just the drink prices make it expensive] but it is not a 'tourist restaurant', those not used to fine dining would not appreciate the difference.
It is up there with Mozaic and Cascades as the best 3 quality restaurants in Ubud.
By comparison Three Monkeys is just a cafe! Menu basic, setting nice but for what you get at the price far better elsewhere, such as the always fully booked Cafe des Artistes up on Jln. Bisma.
You should check your restaurants on Balieats, we use it all the time. we also get their free monthly newsletters so am always kept up with the latest news in ever-changing Bali.
