around $1000 a cut price airfare which is an average air fare from SA.Since Virgin have a monopoly here they can ask what they want & get away with it.
Unfortunately unlike the West coast as well as the East coast we don't ever get any specials or discounted airfares.
If we want a direct flight then we have to pay what is asked.We paid a tad over $1140 per person for return flights in March/April & my daughter paid just under a $1000 for return flights in June.
Yes we could pay exorbitant domestic air fares or keep our eyes out for the rare specials but they don't happen very often.We could spend 3 hours plus each way hanging around the airport in Perth or do an overnight stay in Darwin that incurs hotel & taxi fares.
Anyone from SA or states other than WA just needs to accept that Perth is a lot closer to Bali & will always get a far better deal that the rest of Australia & that the airlines will continue to screw the rest of us for as long as they can.
No use complaining about it because it's not going to change anytime soon.
