Hi guys
I've always found chemical straightening to be a god send esp with my frizzy hair.
It does work with colour - ive had it done when I was blondish and also now Ive redyed back to a dark brown HOWEVER I am not sure if it continues working after you dye again. Ive never been able to get a straight consistent answer about that from haridressers both in bali and in australia.
Cost at Bella was 450,000 for medium length hair. I dont feel like my hair is dried out when its done, they put heaps of conditioning treatments in when they do it, and as long as you take care of it and put treatments in regularly it should be fine.
Word of warning though: heed the instructions not to get your hair wet for 3 days afterwards RELIGIOUSLY. Last time I got it done, t was right before my 11.30pm flight (arriving home at 2.30am). Fell alseep on the plane and drooled on my newly straightened hair. Ended up with curly pieces through - not a good look. For this reason I always get it done on the last day if possible - bearing in mind it can take up to 4.5 hours.
It usually lasts 8 months or so - as long as you take care of it. I was lazy the previous time and only got 3 or 4 montha out of it. You need to leave it out as much as possible - constant tying up will curl the hair. And CONDITION CONDITION CONDITION.
Hope this helps
Ashleigh
