Unaware of the car traffic, and a arm shot out from a hawker sitting on the very edge of the road (at night)and pulled her in, within a few inches of being hit. He looked as surprised as me, like it was an instinctive reaction, and he didn't know he had grabbed her untill a good second or two later. We were very thankful, and relieved, but he just shrugged it off. We figure there must be close calls like this all the time.
