Some short boards will fit into taxis with the front seat laid back. Others have to be attached to the roof. In any case take ties in your hand luggage (ties are better than occy straps). It's best to tie the board on yourself so it neither flies off in transit nor is damaged by being tied on too tightly.
Be prepared to pay extra at the taxi window for a board.
