We saw off 2 friends the night before, Gray and L and now it is our last day. As always on my last day, I like to start to tip big those who I have come to know and like. 10 years ago my 4 yo daughter died under tragic circumstances. I made a decision at the time that I needed to get on and enough life for the sake of my remaining daughter.I always put on a great front but have had a very very large hole in my heart. I have traveled the world alot but when I first went to Bali 6 years ago I felt that it somehow helped my aching soul. I can't tell you why or bore you with my possible explanations for it -it just helps. So I believe that i need to 'pay it forward'. Many of you do honourable deeds, visit orphanages, adopt persons -families. I simply find those who touch me and give. So this time I tipped big most of the Melasti Spa girls. Several of us hugged and wished each other well after my last massage. Went back to Ketut's fixed price shop and bought up big. I had promised my 4 yo niece I would try and find her a mermaid costume and you wouldn't believe it -yep -Ketut pulled one out of a bag. You gotta love that! Kez and Pop took the kids to Nusa Dua for loads of water sports and fun. Pop's feet were so black from the sand. The kids absolutely loved it.Got my laundry done on Garlic Lane -love to pull out the washed, pressed clothes with that lemon smell and put straight in the drawers. Plus everytime you open the drawer a little smell of Bali greets you. So we are going back to Made's Warung for dinner before we left and found Miss 16 & G had taken off to get those last minute things. Luckily they made their way to Made's before I totally freaked out. Clever girls bought me a little gift - canny way to appease Captain Careful.Buy her funky upmarket Gucci sunglasses. We hugged and farewelled Kez and Pop who were staying on for an extra 5 days with the kids. Line at airport was long but finally got through. Spent time at Dewi lounge watching World Cup and flight home uneventful. So loved this trip. My mission was to get friends to love Bali like we do -well mission accomplished. Sadly. woke up next day and I brought a little friend home from Bali with me! Hello -BB or should I say gastro!!
So spent 2 days in bed and then worked all weekend to make up for it. But you know what? It was bloo$%y worth it. Thanks for all your advise over the years, I did learn from you and thanks for reading.
