Whilst I have never purchased the actual cushions, on this trip I did have some patio covers made to fit our outdoor lounge suite.
I had researched this over the past 2 trips, and at one stage I was going to purchase my own Sunbrella material through the shop next to Alta Moda(owned by the same person Daniel)at Kuta Galeria, and use Bali Brumby to make them up.
However, Felicia gave me some sample material to bring back in November last year, so I could leave it exposed to the sun to see how it faded - or not. This material is the first grade Bali equivalent of Sunbrella, so therefore not as expensive, and it is much better quality than the 2nd grade Bali outdoor fabric, of which there has been previous discussion about on the BTF.
The covers were organised through Felicia at Bali Stones, located on Jalan Nakula. Ph.0361 8475757. Felicia's Mobile: 081 1396438.
They took about 8 days to make, but I would allow extra time for the making in future, due to the busy tourist season coming up. You also need to allow an extra day or 2 in case of alterations etc.
I took one of each of the 2 back/bolster cushions as samples, and these were made perfectly. However, I gave them the measurements only, for the bottom 4 pads, and these are a "squeezy" fit. In hindsight, I should have taken samples of all 4 pieces with me, and then I am sure they too would have been perfect.
I would suggest that if you have a sample, then definitely take them with you, otherwise, be very careful in your measuring, as the onus will be on you.
Also, please note that all the sample fabrics are in plain colours, no patterns, unlike the Sunbrella material at Antika.
The cost for having 8 covers made with piped edges, plus 3 extra throw cushion covers in the same fabric (but a different colour) was AUD200, but as this was a preliminary order, I think the actual prices would be a little more now. BUT still VERY much cheaper than having the same items made in Australia.
Felicia and her husband Leo (Made), also have several other businesses - Pt Cargoku - a freight forwarder, sending regular containers to Australia, a new outdoor furniture business called Bali Abode, and also a property advisory service. She is a very easy person to deal with, helpful and efficient, and if you do decide to use her services, please say Hello from Adrienne in Perth.
Their website is: www.balistones.com and you could contact Felicia from Australia and enquire if she is able to assist you:- info@balistones.com
Hope this helps. Cheers!
