Whilst at Breakfast on day 6 -friends mention instead of eating with us at hotel they went to a restaurant I had mentioned -Ultimo. Stated one of the best meals they had ever had! I immediately began to berate my husband re his BB, missing Rock Bar, eating 'Fasta Pasta' at the hotel (even though he had been able to drink Bintangs & G&Ts at the pool) and now missed Ultimo. Lots of shrugging of shoulders followed. Kez's 4 children had arrived during the night and were taking in the Pool, hair braiding and massages. Kez and Pop decided they would take all children (including mine) to Waterbom followed by dinner at Bubba Gumps. As usual -all enjoyed the Park but a few precious one's (including mine) forgot underwear and refused to drip dry -over to Marks and Spencer where they selected bras and knickers and then didn't have enough money. So poor Pop footed the bill which was around $110 Aus! Later I made the girls reimburse Pop. That dented their spending money but they soon learnt not everywhere in Bali is cheap! Apparently Bubba Gumps was a big let down- everyone said the staff barely came near them, no entertainment, no magic tricks, food so so for the price and TV was on the world cup loudly.My daughter said she was really disappointed. Have had great times here and maybe this was just an off night- not everywhere can be perfect all the time.The rest of us went to Ubud for the day. Still a beautiful place with lovely shops. On the way back we decided to detour to Tanah Lot. The drive from Ubud to Tanah lot was absolutely beautiful. Couldn't believe how many people were at Tanah Lot. Never been here before so not sure if this was the norm but the parking lot was jammed. Saw a western bride and groom in all their finery running through the market stalls. On the way back to Legion we couldn't get over the traffic going the other way. Home time and there was literally hundreds & hundreds of motorbikes. Finaly - got to go to Ultimo for dinner and was not disappointed. Food was sooooo good. I wanted to lick my plate but restrained myself. Prices were very reasonable as well.
