My brother stayed at Ayana recently and RAVED about the rock bar. We went for a drink there a few weeks ago when in Bali. Some things to consider...traffic is getting pretty heavy around sunset, you'll want to be there around 5pm latest or you may have to queue. We just snuck in before a 'massive' queue began to form for tables. Some tables have a, ahem, minimum spend on them. The one we sat one some people just moved from and took their tab with them to a new table so we didn't have to pay it, but it was around 800,000rp just to sit there apparently! We had 2 cocktails, 1 mocktail and a coke and it cost about $50AUD. The night we went there was not a breath of breeze and it was BOILING hot...and I'm a real hot weather gal...but boy did I sweat..which isn't really so great when you've just glammed up to go to the rock bar!
Look, it's a stunning locale BUT it's overcrowded, a real 'scene' and waaaaaayyyyy over priced and the sunset is the same as anywhere else! We love a good restaurant and nice bar as much as the next traveller, but we wouldn't rush back. Just my humble opinion.
