plastic drop sheet with us just in case!

When folded up are small, light and very cheap from Bunnings.

if you fly in quite late and cant arrange another room and the one you have booked has bed bugs or you suspect it does you can give it a good spray and cover the entire bed with the drop sheet!

Our Bali bed bug problem as led us to believe that many places we have stayed in both Bali and Thailand have had Bed Bugs,we just didnt know it at the time!

we usually do short stays in 3 or four places and always put the little bite marks down to mozzie type insects or sand flies.

My partner has an allergic reaction to what we thought was Asian mozzie bites (that always turn into big whelts after some days) but after spending 13 nights in the same room and discovering Bed Bugs on the last day i would say it has always been Bed Bugs.

Once she was treated for what the doctor at home thought was chicken pox but we now know it was bed bugs from koh chang in Thailand as she had the same allergic reaction only not as severe as the last Bali one!

Its not always the hotels fault and problems may just be ignored by cleaning staff without management even knowing!

Bed Bugs are becoming epidemic again all around the world so a room with bed bugs doesnt mean the hotel is dirty.

With some Bali 2 and 3 star accommodation being thought of as very cheap to European back packers they tend to opt for more comfortable rooms but may have picked up Bed Bugs in much cheaper rooms elsewhere in Asia

It doesnt hurt to be prepared just in case you do discover the little critters!

And always put your luggage on the luggage racks as they can come home with you as well! :)
