I download my Optusnet emails on to my laptop and leave on the server so I can download on to the office desktop when I go back to office (maybe you are downloading on to office computer ie leaving it turned on while you are overseas), but I get notifications from Optusnet every few days warning me that I have almost reached quota. If this occurs, I delete off the server, ie via Optus webmail, all of the emails not required. (If you are downloading at home but leaving on the server then continually delete those not required off the server.)
Yes you can receive and send gmail or hotmail from any computer. The emails are always accessible as they remian on that ie gmail/hotmail server.
If you export your Optus contacts.....
If you are using Outlook, go to File, Import Export, Export to a file, CSV (Windows), highlight Contacts, select browse to name your file and where you want to save it to, then export.
Log in to gmail, down left find Contacts, then top right select import, name your saved csv file, import and they should be there.
If you receive an email on your optusnet from anew cotact, you can copy and paste the email address into gmail.
You may want to copy body of optusnet email into gmail for replying.
You can add attachments to emails on hotmail and gmail.
Good luck and enjoy your family holiday.
