Large group going for my Husband's 50th. Group consists of Mr 50, Tour Operator (me), Pop, Kez, Stu, Miss Shopaholic 16, Miss friend of Shopaholic (G)-more guests coming later.Some had been to Bali and were not overly impressed with their visit and others had never been and were apprehensive. Our family has been numerous times and love it. My mission -make everyone fall in love with the Bali we love. Met at Adelaide Airport for Virgin flight. Sadly Virgin seemed to have ignored my 2 phone calls to request G be seated with us as only 15 years of age. To make sure this happened I insist we met very early to check in. In fact they commented we were the first to check in. Mmmmm...ended up with G still not seated with us (husband swapped with her). Ended up with 3 toddlers seated directly behind us who screamed the entire time and kicked our chairs. Kez and Stu came down several times to laugh at us! Poor parents, their children finally passed out when the plane landed. We staggered off the plane and met our representative from Hadi for our VIP VOA. I have read all the debates re this and seriously we all agreed we were really happy with the service. After the hell plane trip it was nice to be whisked through and outside to enjoy Bali. Of course as Captain Careful- I declared my 3 bottles of Raspberry juice and customs seemed to think i had 3 extra litres of alcohol! Kept smiling and wagging his finger at me. After much discussion with some mime actions thrown in, we were sent on our way. Arrived at Padma Hotel -just stunning.Went to get my bali sim card and Kez bought a watch for 300, 000 from Charlie Brown! I laughed so much I had tears. Charlie stated 'good deal I give her new battery' Well it had stopped working 10 minutes later. Enjoyed Bintangs around the pool and went off to Joni's for dinner -good cheap Balinese food and more bintangs. Bed by 9pm.
