I was there in May, I think Bali is safer than most nightlife areas in Australia, however we are women in our 40's and walked down past the Bounty late one night and were offered an array of pills etc from people on the streets so my suggestion would be to make the girls aware that there are a number of undercover police trying to sell drugs on the streets so whether they are that way inclined or not - to keep their heads down and just keep walking. That said It happens in Australia too but just a good thing to cover.
Other than that I'm sure they will have a great time other than a few sore heads :-)
