I've also seen the youtube videos on Mics site of the so called "turtle sanctuaries" and what is happening in some of them is just plain ugly.
You are not naive in saying endangered animals (any animal) are due some respect.
Hope your girls get a chance to go to TCEC , it'd be great for such a reputable org to have their support :)
