for our first 4 nights. Like you, we wanted to chill out before going 'downtown' - and chill we did.

It is not really within walking distance to restaurants. Our room rate included a full hot breakfast. Lunch was usually at one of the many warungs located on the cliffside overlooking the surf only about 50 metres away. Dinner was back at the hotel restaurant which also had great views. We are not foodies but found the meals quite good and reasonably priced.

We did have a problem with the in room safe not working but hey no worries - maintenance replaced it with another. How safe is a safe when you can pick it up and walk out with it under your arm - oh you gotta love it.

Swimming in the infinity pool overlooking the break is amazing - yep just like the photos.

Now for the downside - this hotel allows day use of the pool for a price. The peace and quiet you went looking for MAY suddenly be shattered. They had at least one wedding a day while we were there which really wasn't a problem. What you had to watch out for was at about 3pm every afternoon several coach loads of tourists would come in to have afternoon tea at the restaurant, so you had hoardes of people wandering around the pool taking their happy snaps.

Your husband would love it if he surfs. This property has real potential but needs more work - sounds like a school report doesn't it.

Would we stay there again - yes.
