Just returned from 3 weeks on the Island of the Gods. Again another spectacular tropical holiday. Can highly recommend sharing a villa with friends. Stayed in Seminyak where there were fabulous restaurants, great spas and terrific shopping. Loved the Safari Park (even though we'd booked to go to the Bird Park - only n Bali- same same but different!). Visited Kumbasari Market Denpassar, never again! Loved Jenggala Keramik (beautiful locally produced ceramic platters & ornaments etc). Turtle Island was an eye opener but got to hold lots of animals - didn't see much conservation work though!! Best restaurants were Chinoserie (out on the highway, worth the ride), Rio Bar & Grill on JL Legian and Carliz Warung in Seminyak, Harry Juku is being managed by an Australian guy and it was classy as was Beku, eclectic restaurant that does an English high tea (with tea leaf readings available). Bought home the usual array of t/shirts, handbags & bracelets & sunglasses from the beach. Loved my painting purchase and loved being able to watch it being painted, very clever artists. Still the Bintang wasn't cold enough for the boys but they are training afew of their favorite 'hangouts'. My tan feels like it fading already. I miss the bright green rice fields and incense smells already.
