Just got back from bali, we had a few issues with the transit in brisbane with taking the duty free from Auckland. When you get of the plane from auckland with your duty free and go through to a xray,scan machine you arent allowed any more than 100mls of any liquid of any sort!! so we saw people drinking there nz duty free before they got there conecting flight to bali or they just bin it but my husbane, he was so mad that he smashed it into the bin. lucky though that nz duty free did give us a refund when we got back home. We did find that the general shopping was a lot more than in 2004. but never the less we did manage to grab some great cheap paintings down in Kuta, they where to much up the mountain. We went on Bingtang bike ride that was great!!!! also highly recommoned the Marine safari park, it has everything there and be sure to spend the whole day there they have a great swimming, slide area. The elephant ride was only 10mins but that is all you need as its is a very rocky ride and sore the on.... a real ride on the elephants back. We stayed a the Jarakarta a found it to be big and dated and the pools gave us all sore ears and the colorane gave us burning stinging eyes. the breaky was great!!! When we went to the Uluwanta temple the monkeys where very scarey for the children they stole my hair tie, daughters thong of her foot and a pair of reading glass s from a mans pocket and distroyed them all!!! i do wish that we had been to the monkey forest first as they where very freindly and not so agressive, our guide said that they are well feed here. but sadly we did see a tour guide form bali teasing one of the monkeys by throwing stuff at him, that was so mean why do they get us?
