with you & are still 1/2 awake I would get a taxi into Sky city Casino in Darwin outskirts.There are plenty of comfy places there that you can relax with a cold or a hot drink.Most of the other night spots in town are well & truly closed by that time of the morning.It really isn't a big distance from the airport into Mindil beach/The Gardens area where the Casino is to the airport which is in Eaton - maybe around 10 km aka 15 minutes drive away.More than happy for any Darwin locals to correct me if I have things wrong.
You will need input from others re the logistics of the airport & duty free.When we go to Darwin we usually stay for 2 or 3 weeks because we love just spending time in the Top End.
Sorta a pity you don't have more time in Darwin - it's a fantastic area.
