Sounds like good fun 8 friends going on holidays. I regularly go to Bali every year and can recommend good eating places, I have rarely had a bad meal there.
To all of these places you can walk from Seminyak & shop on the way or catch a Bluebird cab, so cheap, like even with traffic probably cost you, 4 in a cab, $A3.
Poppies in Poppies Lane 1, great food, service and gorgeous surroundings. Everyone in Bali knows where Poppies is.
In the same laneway is TJ's Mexican Food, again great food & place.
In Poppies Lane 2 is the most gorgrous place, Kori's, total knockout.
In the same area but on Legian Jl is Ketupat, it is behind an art gallery, huge range of indo food, sit in a cabana or around pool lit by candalabras.
In Seminyak there is a great restaurant built like a tree house, can't remember the name, it's on Legian Jl, mostly japanese food.
These are just a few suggestions, if you search the forum you will find lots of info on food, have a great holiday, make sure you have lots of massages, especially the head massage, true bliss.
