You can get really lovely 3 star accommodation or pay up big for more upmarket. Do you want to be in the centre of Ubud, or happy to be outside Ubud and rely on shuttles etc (They tend to be the more exclusive and expensive ones). Stayed at the Alila on first trip - beautiful but can't walk to town - about 5km from memory. (think that would be up around the $200 a night) Second trip stayed at Sahadewa because we winged it and couldn't find any other accommodation available (near Tegal Sari) - wouldn't recommend Sahadewa. Last trip in April - Honeymoon Guesthouse. 3 Star - but perfect for our needs and beautiful accommodation within reasonable walk to Monkey Forest Road. Beautiful breakfast served on our balcony - About AUD75 a night. You need to do some googling and see what suits your needs.
