Alam Indah group of small hotels are beautiful. We stayed at Alam Shanti, 10 min walk to Ubud through the Monkey Forest or the staff will just drive you there and pick you up anytime you want. They have a few other small properties in Ubud, LOVELY breakfasts and afternoon teas on your large private patio...quiet in the rice paddies, large and beautiful rooms, gorgeous pool. Our room- not the most expensive- was 'Sindu' at Alam Shanti, huge, gigantic 4 poster bed, indoor/outdoor bathroom (free geckos!). A/C but we only used it once. Check their website...we paid around $100/night from memory
