AirAsia flys in and out of the purpose built Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). It won't win any awards like its nearby Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) but it is functional, if not bursting at the seams a little. There is a good handful of Food and Beverage outlets available to the public. Once you pass immigration, there is a duty-free store and a "Plaza Premium Lounge". $31AUD for 2 hours. Keep in mind they will only be able to check-in for their flight 3 hours before departure (12.50pm lunchtime). So in theory they have from 8am to 12.50pm free. Cross going into KL off the list, its a 3 hour return bus trip. As others have mentioned, check out Tune Hotel LCCT. AirAsia's answer to budget hotels. It's walking distance from the LCCT terminal and is worth considering if they want to relax and shower before the flight to Bali. Also, as others have mentioned, AirAsia is a point to point carrier meaning you must treat each flight as a new flight. This means checking in again, going through immigration again and so on.
I hope this provides some reassurance, any more questions just ask!
