we did this leg ex melb although we caught the 11am flight to bali.
Kl LCC is very easy to navigate although they have a long wait i wouldnt recomend going into kl just sit around the airport. There are plenty of coffee shops there now and there is money changes so they can change some.if they want somewhere to rest there is a tunes hotel that you can see as you walk out of the arrival doors.but dont worry they will be fine i would rather be at KL airport than bali airport as it seem so much more simple and we have been to bali 7 times
