again the time went so quickly. Of course I can't wait to start planning my next trip to Bali. Went with my elderly mum (83) and my two daughters (15 and 11). Was worried about mum coping as she had quite recently had a minor knee operation and wasn't at her top speed but she did quite well really. Just meant we had to get taxis more often rather than walking everywhere like we usually do.
She was a bit confused the first couple of days after the flight and the humidity and culture shock plus the money - everything was a bit much to cope with but after about 4 days she was pretty good with everything. My girls looked after her really well which was nice.
We had two nights at the Kusnadi Hotel in Legian and loved it, very friendly and in a great spot. More nights there would have been good to explore the surrounding streets more. Ate at Flying Piano but found the singers a bit too roudy for our liking and their voices not the best in my opinion (they were really trying too hard to be funny). Tommys for the best iced coffee. Another one close to Kusnadi was Yutz (I think) for breakfast on our first day was nice. Had lunch by the pool both days - very nice food at Kusnadi.
One night we got a taxi who got completely lost and went round and round and eventually I said stop and paid him then got into another taxi to Tekor Bali on Legian beach. It was very busy and we had a nice meal there.
Next we had nine nights in Ubud at Cendana Resort and Spa in Monkey Forest road - what can I say this resort is fantastic and I will definately go back there as soon as I can. Loved it. Ate at Cinta Bar and Grill, Three Monkeys, Jazz Cafe, Kafe, Cafe Wayan, Casa Luna, and a few other smaller places - all good!! I love Ubud so much that I could live there.
Went to the rice terraces - beautiful, Sanur for a day - also like to stay there again as very nice. Had lunch at Tootsies on the beach and shopped at her shop behind. Easy shopping and very nice lady.
Had a tattoo booked at Ibud Tattoo in Legian but cancelled at the last minute - maybe next time. That and botox was going to be my 50th birthday present to myself. Had the botox at Dr Made Ita in Seminyak and very pleased with the subtle changes. Will go back again.
Went to waterbom with younger daughter - those stairs are a killer and she definately needed a younger person to go with instead of me.
Had intended to do a cooking course, water rafting, safari Park, but as usual time gets away and we needed to relax more this time with mum which we did and it was great.
Did do horseriding at Ganga Beach with daughters and was dissapointed as the horses were way to frisky for all of us. Oldest daughter nearly came off couple of times when her horse went wild and has sworn she will never get on a horse again. The guides were nice but the horses just weren't suitable in my opinion.
Did the usual shopping at Centro, Ketuts, Dvd's, got a DSI card with thirty games on it - hope it works. Ubud markets - not nearly as pushy as previously.
All in all another great holiday....
